The Problem
The problem with finding and using evidence
Finding supporting documents is manual and slow
When a bid writer needs to answer "provide an example of a similar project delivered on time and under budget," they search their inbox, shared drives, and memory to find relevant case studies. This hunt can take hours per question — and the best evidence often isn't found because the searcher doesn't know it exists or can't locate it in time.
Wrong references damage credibility
Citing the wrong case study — one that doesn't actually match the question's criteria — is worse than citing nothing. Evaluators notice when your evidence doesn't align with the question. Mismatched references signal either carelessness or an absence of genuine relevant experience, and either interpretation hurts your score.
No searchable evidence library
Most organisations have no central, searchable repository of their evidence — case studies, certifications, policies, audit reports, and past winning responses exist across dozens of different locations. Without a searchable library, the same evidence is recreated from scratch repeatedly, and the best content from past submissions is never reused.

FAQ
Common questions about Reference Mapping
SEQUESTO accepts all common document formats including Word (.docx), PDF, Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), and plain text. You can store case studies, project references, policy documents, certifications (ISO, SOC 2, etc.), testimonials, financial statements, technical specifications, past winning responses, and any other supporting evidence your team uses in bids and questionnaires.
For each question, SEQUESTO searches the entire evidence library and scores each potential match on a scale from 0–100%. High-confidence matches (80%+) indicate strong alignment between the question intent and the document content. Medium-confidence matches (50–79%) are partial matches that may need supplementation. Low-confidence matches signal that relevant evidence may not exist in the library yet — helping teams identify content gaps.
SEQUESTO performs deep content search — indexing and searching within the full text of every document, including PDFs. It can surface a specific paragraph from a 200-page technical specification that answers a particular question, not just identify that the document might be broadly relevant. This full-content semantic search is what enables the 99% document coverage and precision matching.
SEQUESTO's access controls let you tag evidence with confidentiality levels and restrict which team members can access which documents. Client-specific case studies can be marked as requiring client approval before reuse, with an approval workflow that sends a notification to the relevant account manager. Sensitive documents are visible in search results but display a confidentiality notice before their content can be viewed or used.
